The story of Neomi the ghost and Conrad the mad vampire. Conrad isn't the first Wroth we've come across. Turned by his eldest brother at the same time as Sebastian, Conrad is one of the fallen. He is a ruthless killer driven mad by the memories of his victims. He has become the very thing he hated - a vampire and he still holds that against his brothers (well Nikolai and Murdoch). Kidnapped by his brothers he is placed in an abandoned mansion in New Orleans, well - it appears to be abandoned - but Conrad can see the former occupant - a petit ballerina who was stabbed to death by her ex-fiance.
Hmmmmm, there isn't as much sex in this one, which is a shame, because it was a really nice change to come across a male character - who's a virgin (apart from Edward Cullen, but Conrad gets to have hardcore sex). 300 years of being a vampire and he falls for a ghost. But of course it all works out nicely in the end. Nix is a riot, she's so vacant a lot of the time yet she knows exactly what's going to happen. Plus it nicely set up the next book with Cade and Holly. We also got to catch up with Mari and Bowen from the previous book.
One of the best things about this book was the cover - definately the best one of the series (and let's be honest most of the them have been spectacularly bad) if only they'd given him the red eyes, that would have made it perfect.
