Hmmmm, a story told with a lot of flashbacks. A resolution to the whole Lash situation, a deepening of the Qhuinn and Blay knightmare and the setup for the next book by bringing Payne into the story.
Lash was one seriously messed up MF - keeping Xhex cloaked in shadows in his house - even keeping her hidden when the brothers broke into the house. John Matthew finally crawled out of the Jack Daniels bottle he'd been surgically attached to in his quest to find her.
This book was just OK for me - I still miss the fire of the earlier books. But the story for this one had a good structure - it went somewhere and it was fascinating to understand where Xhex came from.
I felt so sorry for Qhuinn, he finally admitted his feeling for Blay to himself to find it was too late - a situation that will hopefully be rectified in Lover At Last.
I'm intrigued to know if Mhurder will make another appearance as well - can always do with more brothers!!!
