Lover Awakened - J.R. Ward I always felt that Zsadist had a raw deal when it came to the brothers. Always blamed for terrible things - everyone was frightened of him. After reading this I can understand why they felt that way, but still couldn't believe that thought he was really like that.

This book is awesome - AWESOME. I loved it. Learning Z's story was heartbreaking at times, understanding what he went through as a blood slave, the impact of that kind of abuse (e.g scrubbing his wrists and neck raw because he was 'dirty'). How he had the strength to get through, to allow someone in and get close to him was nothing short of a miracle.

In Lover Eternal Phury told Bella that Z wasn't broken, he was ruined. I couldn't disagree more. It was sad that his own brother looked at him that way. Z was broken and Bella helped to heal him.

Bella had her own abuse to deal with and I liked the way that was resolved. It was good that she got the closure that she needed and was able to deal with David herself.
